Are Psychic Readers Legit or Merely Scam Artists?

June 15th, 2009

If you were to look up psychic reader in the Portland area phone book, you would come across several pages of different psychics all claiming that they can predict the future for you. So, how do you know which psychics can really back up their claims? Are any of these psychics actually able to predict your future, or do you determine which direction your future will take?

When most people go to visit a fortune teller they take the reading with a grain of salt. This is a very smart decision as most psychics are simply scam artists who have been well trained in the art of reading a person. There are tons of clues a person can give into their life from simply walking in the door. For instance, if a woman walks in to see a fortune teller and they are wearing a large moissanite wedding ring on their finger, a good deal can be gleaned from their life just by that ring. A moissanite wedding ring obviously tells the psychic that the woman is married, but depending on the size of the stone one can surmise how much money a person has or how materialist they are. Physics are very astute, and they’re trained to read both a person’s body language and glean some sort of insight into a person by looking at everything from their hair style to the type of clothes they are wearing.

If you have ever gone to a fortune teller, did you notice that they always use open-ended questions? This is their way of digging a little bit further into your life without you even noticing it. Again, these people are very well trained and they have honed their craft.

Now, does this mean that every psychic reader is a scam artist and a fake? That question needs to be left up to each individual person, but think about how many psychics there are in the phone book and on the Internet. If these people could really predict your future, why can’t they predict their own or predict the lottery numbers and win enough money to give up this racket?
