Different Types of Mountain Bikes

February 18th, 2009

A Mountain bike should always have a proper full suspension system. This is important as it helps with a smoother ride when going over difficult terrain. You will find that full suspension bikes have both a front and back suspension. Hard tail mountain bikes have a shock system in place of the front fork and a solid rear fork. Lower end models of mountain bikes do not have a shock system either in the front or rear of the bike.

Mountain bikes with both descending and climbing ability are usually ideal for cross country riders. The rear suspension will only move about 4 inches so that it doesnt cause a problem when trying to climb uphill. When travelling over different terrain a greater number of gears are require to make it easier to navigate, because of this most cross country mountain bikes have 28 gears.

More robust bikes are available in the shape of a trial bike for the more technical rider. Trial bikes typically move a little more and you can expect the movement of the suspension to be between 4 and 7 inches. This will mean that you get a lot smoother ride but it is more difficult to pedal uphill. Riders of mountain bikes have to weigh up whether they need a smoother ride against decreased pedal efficiency. All terrain cycles is a great place on the web to look for Trek Track Bikes.

Specific downhill mountain bikes can expect up to 8 inches in suspension movement. If you are a downhill racer it is this type of bike that you will need. A downhill bike with more movement in the suspension is easier to control going downhill but a lot more difficult to pedal going uphill.

A Visitor’s Guide to Bradford

February 16th, 2009

Bradford,
is an industrial city in northern England.

Tourist attractions in and around the city include
the National Media Museum, the Colour Museum, Lister Park and Cartwright Hall
and the famous industrial village of
Saltaire
(which was built by the Victorian philanthropist Sir Titus Salt for his workers and which is now a UNESCO designated World Heritage Site).

One particular feature of the city is its close proximity to the countryside, with the wild heather moors of
Haworth
and Bronte Country very close by, and the Yorkshire Dales national park being also within easy reach.

Being the birthplace of the Bronte Sisters (who lived in the village of Thornton on the outskirts of the city before their move to nearby Haworth,
the composer Delius, the artist David Hockney, the playwright J.B. Priestley, and the novelist John Braine,
it’s no wonder that the city of Bradford is well known as one of the UK’s “Cities of Culture”
(and indeed put in a bid to be the European Capital of Culture in 2008).

Other famous people who were born in and around the city include the scientists Sir Fred Hoyle and Sir Edward Appleton, the singer Kiki Dee, and
the comedian Adrian Edmondson – most famous as the punk rocker “Vivian” in TV’s “The Young Ones”.

T-Mobile Mobiles Including 12 Months Free Line Rental

February 16th, 2009

Did you know that its really possible to obtain a mobile phone totally cost free with12 months free line rental? What that means is that you can acquire a free mobile phone handset with free inclusive text messages and free inclusive minutes without paying a penny for them!By now your bound to be wondering whether this is some kind of con trick, but this is the real deal! The way to cash in is to whoop cell companies at their own game. See, mobile phone stores sell free line rental mobiles to attract prosepective customers into the store. Then they attach a load of strings to the packages to reduce the numbers of people that actually take out and correctly order a free line rental mobile deal.12 mont free line rental offers operate because the buyer sign up for a mobile contract in the normal way, and pay the bill as normal. Then, at pre defined times within the term of the mobile contract you have to make a claim for cash back. At this point the retailer who sold you the mobile sends you a cheque. Usually three individual claims have to be made before you recover 100% of the cost of your mobile phone. Now, the store owners make this process pretty hard , as they ask you provide phone bills (which maybe misplaced). They also insist upon particular dates for the claim (which may be forgotten) and impose various other tricks and barriers. This is why you must be smart and beat them at their own game!Make sure you read the contrac, write down the dates, do not lose the paperwork and make sure your claim is punctual and you can get a mobile phone completely cost free for a full 12 months! The fact is that shops don’t care about giving away a few of these handsets cost free as it makes for a a good promotion for them. Being able to promote “cost free cellular telephones” enhances the standing of their store, and, as they recognize only a handful of customers will jump through all the clauses necessary to receive a 12 months free line rental deal, it does not really cost that much money!A free line rental promotion may not be the best choice for you as you have to be prepared and make sure you properly finish all the steps of your claim correctly, but, a 12 months free line rental deal is definately something worth considering if you are price aware.

Celebrate Life!

February 14th, 2009

Here we are, on the fast track of the approaching lazy, hazy days of summer. Perhaps your family will be experiencing a graduation or maybe a wedding. Perhaps you’re looking forward to outdoor cookouts, vacations, fun in the sun, laughter, relaxation, being with friends, or even an afternoon siesta. Most individuals believe these times of celebration are reserved for specific times, or for weekends or holidays.

Most of my life I believed it was about struggle and work with times of fun sprinkled around in particular moments. Never in my wildest imagination did I conceive of the idea that all of life could be a celebration, until recent years when I realized this truth. Having lived on both sides of the fence, I can assure you that the way I now live exceeds all that went before.

Celebration is defined as experiencing good times, honoring publicly or sharing in festivities. My wish for you is to understand that ALL of life can be this way, and that the only thing required to experience this phenomenal life depends on your choice.

Right now you might be saying something like, “Yea, right, what a joke. This lady has no idea what’s going on in my life or she wouldn’t make such a ridiculous statement.” Here’s the beautiful part of what I just stated…it’s really true!

Everything in our life revolves around choice. We can choose to see the glass half empty of half full. We can see our challenges as struggle and hardship or as a gift that helps us move beyond what we thought we could do. There’s a saying out there that goes like this: “If you believe you can, or you can’t, you’re right!” Get it? It’s all up to you!

You will experience challenges that may appear to be difficulties or even tragic. You might experience illness, death of a loved one, job loss, financial devastation, broken relationships, all of which can appear as a tragedy, certainly not a celebration. But you can choose another way of viewing these life situations.

Everything comes into your life for a reason, and it always is there to help you grow. When things are going along perfectly smooth you usually don’t ask for divine help: you probably figure you’re doing pretty well by yourself. Then along comes the appearance of a problem and what immediately happens – you cry out for help. In this place you are ready to listen because you no longer know what to do. When individuals feel helpless, they are ready to surrender. Surrender allows one to move beyond and accomplish something not possible before. Why? Because in this place you are accepting the divine power within you as you reconnect with your power source – your Creator. Now you can move mountains!

This doesn’t mean you won’t experience challenges, for life does bring these to everyone. But what it means is that you can see the gift in every circumstance and know it is in perfect divine order. Illness may help you see new ways for healing, including letting go of old patterns and emotional negatives as is did for me some years ago. Losing a job will most probably bring you a better job if you allow it to come to you. A broken relationship happens, and in hindsight most individuals eventually see what a blessing it was. Financial devastation is only devastating if you allow yourself to remain in the victim mindset. Instead, ask for divine help and then follow the new doors that open. It may take a while, but I have found that every time I reached a point when I thought I couldn’t make it, something out of the blue would appear and sure enough, I’d make it once again. Now, I never go to that place of doubting the end result because I know that my Creator is watching out for me as long as I remain connected and trust the process. The same can be true for you!

It may not be easy for you to see life as a celebration when you’re lying sick in a hospital bed or juggling a large stack of unpaid bills, but if you realize there is a bigger picture that although you cannot see it at that moment, there is a power greater than you on your side, directing you through whatever you are experiencing. Then you can shift internally so that you can celebrate whatever is in your path.

If you never had night it would be hard to appreciate day. So it is in your life. It’s hard to appreciate the wonderful times unless you experience the not so wonderful situations. But, no matter what, it is important for all of us to celebrate whatever enters our path. Even night has great beauty if you simply look at what it offers: bright stars, a beautiful moon, emergence of nocturnal creatures like the owls, sleep, romantic evenings, and so on. Most of these things you would miss if you only had day.

Here are a few examples. Maybe a quarrel revealed some important bits of information that helped to create a new and beautiful relationship. Perhaps while lying sick in bed you discovered new things about yourself and your life, or maybe you found out how wonderful your friends and family were as they helped you. Maybe an accident totaled your car and gave you the definite incentive to buy a new car you had been thinking about purchasing. Perhaps the day you were late due to a traffic jam saved you from being the person lying dead on the freeway.

Shift your perception of what you see in your life and amazingly your life will become quite different. This is not denial about reality, it’s simply creating the reality that you truly want. If your challenges become a great gift you can see the benefits of whatever shows up, even if it feels painful at first. As you move through the situation, you become an expanded and stronger being, and that is always a reason to celebrate!

Look at each day as a celebration of life, for each day truly is, even the very fact that you got up that morning and are alive. See it as a celebration and that’s exactly what will show up!

BLESS MY FRIEND

Lord, can you do me one favor please
Will you be less a friend for me?
I don’t know where she is now,
What she’s doing or how she’s been
But bless her especially this moment
She may be needing it most this time.

I sure miss her when I feel so alone
Days just never and when I’m with her
I even remember one drink in the past if
Your arms are as comforting as hers
And when I see her in olden days
I’m seeing a shade of your face…

Lord, please look after my friends welfare
Wherever she is now today
May your tender loving care surrounds her
And your favor on her stays
Though I can’t be with her, old please…
Be the arms that’d warm her for me, for always.

How to write a press release AND get it published

February 12th, 2009

=> Summary

This article contains a checklist to writing a press release. And
it includes the single most important ingredient of a press
release, that will dramatically improve your chances of getting
your news published.

=> Introduction

Firstly, let me say straight away that I am *not* an expert at
writing press releases. Over the years, I have read and studied
many articles on how to write a press release; I have then
submitted my press release only to see them fail to get noticed
by editors.

That’s not to say that the articles I read were poor – all
offered good advice, but not in the format I wanted: a simple
checklist.

So I created my own checklist to help me write a press release. A
do-able step-by-step guide to writing a press release that makes
writing the news release a straight-forward process.

And I was ready to write this article nine months ago, but
something was missing from my press releases at the time – a vital
ingredient – and so my press releases were still not getting
published.

I am only writing this article NOW simply because my last press
release WAS published, in several UK computer magazines. I am
only writing this article NOW because I now know what the
missing ingredient is to a successful press release (that gets
published). It’s simple, really, *and* obvious! (Read on!)

Note: I’m still not an expert when it comes to writing a press
release – you’ll find links to experts at the bottom of this
article – but I am much more confident that my press releases
will get published now. And you can be confident too…

=> Press Release Checklist

o Step 1 – What’s Your Story?
o Step 2 – Think Like A Journalist
o Step 3 – Mechanics Of Writing A Press Release
o Step 4 – Example Layout Of A Press Release
o Step 5 – Is Your Press Release Ready?

o The missing ingredient – K-I-S-S

o Appendix: Expert press release resources

So, what follows is advice distilled from many sources, organised
in a way that allows you to follow the basic steps of writing a
press release. (And you can always find out more detailed
information, should you need it, in the Appendix!)

What also follows is the vital ingredient missing from many
how-to articles, that improve your chances of getting your news
published…

=> Step 1 – What’s Your Story?

1.1) Find your story, and develop it!

1.2) Position yourself as being different

1.3) Develop different angles

– holiday and event tie-in articles
– tips, articles, advice
– politically and socially important editorial tie-in articles
– new, unique products, Internet innovations and developments
– human interest angles
– interpersonal relationships on difficult issues
– unusual events, unique personal accomplishments, unusual
creative ideas
– humor and wisdom, fun and tragedy

Some suitable news-sources to aid your research:
http://news.bbc.co.uk
http://www.zdnet.com
http://www.backwash.com
http://www.moreover.com

=> Step 2 – Think Like A Journalist

2.1) What reasons would an editor want to publish your news (what
benefits are there for them?)
– is it relevant?
– is it mildly interesting?
– is it newsworthy?

2.2) Make the main benefit the headline
– the only purpose of your headline is to get the attention
of the editor, to get him/her to read your release
– write headlines from prospects point of view (use the
words YOU, NEW and/or How To in headline)

2.3) Remember the subtext

2.4) Remember K-I-S-S (keep it simple stupid!) – write for
scannability; write short, punchy paragraphs

2.5) Remember to answer: “Who? Why? What? Where? When? & How?”

2.6) Write the press release so it can be put into a magazine,
with just a few simple edits

=> Step 3 – Mechanics Of Writing A Press Release

3.1) The Title of your press release is vital – some say that 90%
of your time should be spent on your title; make it bold &
boastful (hot and shocking!)

3.2) Opening sentence continues what you are talking about in the
headline

3.3) Tell your story in headline and leading paragraph

3.4) Use specific, powerful (and true) testimonials
– use convincing case studies

3.5) Use a powerful guarantee, and draw attention to it

3.6) – No more than 5 bullet points
– No .DOC files
– No attachments
– No HTML

3.7) Change passive words to active; use the words YOU; and link
selling points

3.8) For each sentence ask yourself ‘So what?’ – remove if there
is no good answer

3.9) Edit your copy ruthlessly, over and over again!

=> Step 4 – Example Layout Of A Press Release

This is a simple example of what a press release should look
like (more or less):

— Benefit (tell me more, 36-40 chars)

— What / why needed / how it will help
(40-75 words)
— Include quotes

— Who aimed at (the facts) – who cares?

— Summarise; call to action

=> Step 5 – Is Your Press Release Ready?

1) Is your press release published on your website?

2) Better still, do you have an online press pack?

3) Do you know what to do or say if a reporter calls?

=> The missing ingredient – K-I-S-S

Phew! A lot to take in, I agree! The main trouble with doing all
of the above is that your press release will be… L-O-N-G!

Yes, the vital ingredient to your press release, the one factor
that WILL increase the chances of getting your news published is
to:

Keep It SHORT Stupid (yet another K-I-S-S !)

Not convinced? Ask yourself these questions, then:

* How many of these press releases do you think editors
get to read every day?

* How many long, badly-worded releases will they read
before eventually becoming instantly put off just
by the length of a press release?

* And how much more likely do you think a press release
will be read if it’s a SHORT, quick read.

Keep your press release short, simple as that!

=> Appendix: Expert press release resources

If you want to know more about writing a press release then I can
recommend the following resources (but do still remember to keep
your press release short, eh?):

Divide and Conquer

February 12th, 2009

The United States is divided almost in two. The virility and tenacity of her people, is slowly waining away. There are divisions in politics, religion, schools, in the market places and a division between the rich and the poor. What is a divisions, A Disunion; discord; variance; The act of dividing or separating into parts. That which divides or separates; that which keeps apart; partition.

As there are divisions within the world we also have division in the household, father and son, mother and daughter, parents and children. I thank God that there is no division between, my wife and myself, for she is not only, wife, lover, and mother, but she is also my best friend.

My wife and I have come thru many an obstacle and tribulation, from death to illness, from poverty to riches. No matter what state that we found ourselves, we’ve always walked the road together.

We cannot survive as a house divided, and neither can we survive as nation torn apart, nor recover from hatred that sweeps the world. But these divisions in our nation and in the world, will and are coming to pass, just as Jesus prophesied.
Matthew 12:25; And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:”

What causes these divisions, is it, greed, want, power, witchcraft, religion, cults? All of the above and more. The cause for division and confusion is Satan and his legions of demon spirits.

Jesus knew this and warned us of the coming events that would shake the world into, war and conflict.
Mark 3:23-25; And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan? (How can a spirit of anti-Christ cast out evil, evil begets evil, hatred begets hatred and rejection creates unrest.)
And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. The fall of many countries has come from within.

Leaders creating unrest among the populace causing controversy and discontent. It happened in Germany, Russia, India, Africa and it will happen in the United States. The main reason for this fall will be the spirit of anti-Christ, working his wonderful and miraculous sights and wonders. Starting out as a man of peace and ending up a man of war and deception.

People will be so weary of war and rumors of war, that they will believe a man that claims to be able to end all violence.
And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

The United States is divided because of politics, religion, color and cultural separation. This was bound to happen, when her people started to separate herself from the truth, which is in God. How can I say this? Because of what the Bible says of the Law; James 2:10-11; For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.

Ask yourself this question(those that believe in the Scriptures.) Did Jesus do away with the Mosaic Law and the Ten Commandments? The answer you gave should have been, “no”.

The Ten Commandments are eternal, just as God is Eternal. What Jesus stated in Revelations of what and who would never enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, are and will be also eternal.

When a nation forgets God and His Commandments, they fall into witchcraft and will pay the price for rejection of the Law of God. This is a punishment of the nation, but the individual will be judged according to his works. In Leviticus 4:22 we see the responsibility of a ruler.; When a ruler hath sinned, and done somewhat through ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD his God concerning things which should not be done, and is guilty;
In Gal 5:15-17; we see how Satan divides and Conquers.

“But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.”

Now we can see that the lust of the flesh is one part, of the over devices, that is and will, divide this and other countries in half. Satan is wanting to gain control of millions by his deception and control of the basic human desires of greed and want.

Satan, according to scripture, with the aid of the anti-Christ, will divide and conquer nation after nation until there is a one world leader, religion, bank, military and monetary system.Rev 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Rev 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. Don’t take my word on this, just read the news.

And to accomplish this, he will create a dis-union among the people, just as is happening today, around the world. Confusion and dis-union, is the perfect time for the spirit of anti-Christ to do his work, divide and conquer.

Rev 13:7 –

Life – Are Yor READY to Go For It?

February 11th, 2009

How many times have we stood in the mirror and said to ourselves… “Tomorrow, I WILL….” and the next day we wake up and say the same thing again?

One thing that I know is that in our lives, there are times when we feel that we should take a specific action that we just know deep down inside is right; but for some reason, we seem to feel stuck or unsure. So we hesitate.

Why is that?

There is a universal truth that states that when we make a specific decision to take ACTION in our lives, we move forward, however that looks like to each and every one of us. One question that we have to internally answer is “Am I ready?” Because, no matter the motivation or desire is in our lives, and even if we are willing and able to do whatever it is that we desire, the question still remains “Are we ready to take a committed action?” If not we will certainly sabotage ourselves.

Being ready to take action is all about commitment.

Being ready to take action is a mindset.

Sometimes we need the push in life to say “Enough is Enough!”
At times we have to be pretty fed up or hit rock bottom before we are really ready to personally create long lasting change in our lives.

A great friend of mine recently quit her job after months of being miserable. She was willing and able to venture out into the world on her own, but for some reason she could not let go of what she called “the job from hell.”

The last straw for her was being demoted and having her salary cut. Why was it that it took this type of action for her to “Get It”?

This action by the company did nothing more than create the way for her to become ready. As humans we can put up with a whole lot. We tolerate and tolerate until finally we are pushed to the point of being ready.

It seems like a common occurrence that it sometimes takes a traumatic event in our lives for us to become totally fed up with our situation. Why is that?

Is there a way to create that internal “Spark of Action” without having to explore the depths of our lives to get there?
One question I suggest that we ask in my seminars is “What is the worst thing that can happen?” Once we have the answer, the next question then becomes “And can I live with that?”
If the answer is yes, then chances are you are ready to make your move. If you are still not sure – then it is time to start to look at other options.

My suggestion, Keep working on these two specific questions until you are able to create a win- win solution that you can live with.

Being ready is a state of mind. You have to be ready right down to the fibers of your bones or it won’t work. When you are ready, your commitment level will be 100%. If you are not ready, your commitment level will be much less, and whatever actions you take will not be sufficient to create what you want.

Give yourself a break. If you are not ready, don’t beat yourself up over it. Take a few steps left and ask yourself, “What am I READY to do RIGHT NOW?”.

Taking small steps can often help us get up the courage to take the big leap. There are times when any action is better than none at all. Start from where you are and keep focused and moving forward. Getting ready is a process; so don’t rush it. There are occasions when it takes time to work up to the point where you can take the leap.

The biggest challenge is just knowing when to sit back and when to really dedicate yourself 100% and take ACTION!

What do you choose to do in life?

Creating Your Best Year Ever

February 10th, 2009

January is synonymous with resolutions and getting organized is high on many people’s list. Unfortunately, perhaps some of us make a resolution, when what we really want is a revolution.

Twenty years of accumulated excess weight to disappear in twenty weeks or twenty years of accumulated excess possessions, to find a happy home in twenty minutes. Maybe a more realistic approach would be an evolution — “a process of continuous, natural change from a lower or worse, to a higher or better state,” according to Webster.

Human behavior is not like computer software. It cannot be installed. It has to be nurtured. To bring order into our lives, in whatever area we choose, whether it is loosing weight, managing our finances, spending more time with our family, or finding a more fulfilling job, we must nurture our own behavior. One area of my life that is a constant struggle is exercise and healthy eating. As a young child my body caused me lots of problems and I tried hard to ignore it. I subconsciously developed a sense of disdain for my body because it constantly seemed to let me down. I learned to mask some of the pain, at least temporarily, by eating. Several years ago while doing some deep soul searching, I recognized that until I learned to manage my body, I could not find the peace and self-respect I was seeking. So I made a commitment that I would begin to nurture a change in my attitude toward my body by applying organizing skills.

In working with thousands of people over more than 20 years, I’ve discovered there are five components to successfully changing any habit: (1) Vision, (2) Attitude, (3) Time, (4) Tools, and (5) Maintenance. I decide to practice what I preached and apply that knowledge to my own struggle with exercise. Here’s the scenario:

Vision: My vision of a healthy body means wearing a size 12 suit comfortably, not having a backache, exercising regularly without inappropriate discomfort, and eating healthy food most of the time, so I can splurge periodically without feeling guilty.

Attitude: In the past I always focused on my failures, but it isn’t difficult to look around and find people who have much more severe physical problems than I do that have healthy bodies. I knew that if I was going to accomplish my vision of a health body, I would have to eliminate all my excuses about my lack of exercise and poor eating habits — I don’t have time, it’s difficult when I’m traveling, it’s raining outside, it isn’t a safe neighborhood to run, there isn’t anything healthy in an airport, etc. I began to use Noah St. John’s approach of “affirmations.” Instead of “affirmations”– saying, “I have a healthy body.” I began asking the question, “Why is my body so healthy?” Since your brain automatically seeks answers, it was immediately easier to keep looking for ways to be healthy! Don’t ask me to explain how it works – just try it!

Time: One of the interesting things I discovered in helping people to organize their homes and offices is that frequently it takes less time to be successful than people anticipate. Perhaps that’s because we overestimate how long it takes to do the things we don’t like and underestimate how much time we spend on the things we do like? I started out by using a system called Fit 10, an isometric exercise that takes 10 minutes a day. I knew that if I didn’t have that much time, I wasn’t really committed to my vision. A few years later, I decided to work out with a personal trainer. The one I wanted is 30 minutes from my house. I committed to two days a week. At the appointed time, I hopped in the car, popped in a audiotape, and by the end of the first side, I was ready to exercise. On the way home I listened to the end of the second side. Now I could exercise my body and my brain at the same time!

Tools: One of the big advantages of Fit ten is that I can do it in my bedroom before I’m tempted by outside factors to postpone exercise. In addition, it fits in my suitcase, and I can exercise in my hotel room, eliminating the excuses of “I don’t like to exercise in public,” or “I’m not sure this is a safe neighborhood to take a walk”, etc.

Maintenance: Now the hard part -maintaining my resolve. My conclusion is that as long as I keep reviewing the first four factors, my vision now includes participating in a public walking event before I reach 60. I did Fit 10 alone for almost three years, but began to get bored, so adding the encouragement (and new tools!) of a personal trainer, put be back on track!

What evolution are you looking for this year? Whatever it is, be kind to yourself, and make sure that you’ve covered all the five steps. Need some help? Find someone else who has a New Year’s Resolution and do it together!
