Entice Your Reader With These 5 Headlines

November 30th, 2008

In the world of marketing communications, your first impression your headline can lead to either marketing success … or failure.

It’s important to realize that headlines work best when they appeal to your reader’s interests (not yours). And not only can they *grab attention*, they can also make your message easy to read, convey your main selling points, and lead your customer to a sale.

Over the years copywriting pros have used several headline formulas that always work well. Here are my fab five:

  1. The question. “Are You Worried About Your Financial Future?”

A question headline automatically gets your readers involved in your message, because they answer it in their minds. Many people will read further into your letter, ad, or Web site copy just to find out what answer or solution you provide. Again, make sure the question focuses on the reader’s interest, not yours. A *bad* example would be: “Do You Know What New Product We’ve Created This Year?” (No one cares but you! ; ))

  2. The How-to. “How to Get Thinner Thighs in 30 Days.”

How-to headlines work very well, because people love information that shows them how to do something. (Thousands of book titles begin with “How to….’) Think of the benefits your product/service offers and then try creating some “how to” headlines.

  3. The Testimonial. “Rob Smith’s Consulting Is Pure Magic Our Sales Have Increased by 30%!”

Why not let your clients do the selling for you? Their commendations can go a long way in convincing others to use your services. Tip: To appear credible, always include your clients’ full names and the cities they live in.

  4. The Command. “Boost Your Business Today!”

Turn your most important benefit into a commanding headline, such as “Make More Time for Your Family,” “Look Younger Instantly!” and “Get 7 New Clients This Month.” (By the way, throwing a number into your headline is another good tactic. And readers seem to like odd numbers as opposed to even.)

  5. The News. “Introducing Our New ‘Rest-Assured’ Tax Service!”

This usually works best if you truly have something big to announce, such as new products or big changes in your company. Don’t try to make news out of something that’s not.

Once your readers know you have something they’re interested in, they’ll take the time to read your entire article, brochure, letter, ad, e-zine, or Web page. So put some TLC into creating headlines that entice!

The look in her eyes – Part 1

November 30th, 2008

Fire, fire, Natasha heard people shouting, she ran out of her house and saw that there was fire everywhere. There seemed to be so much of light all around her that she could not see anything. There is nothing like certainty in life things can change any time, any minute. Her mind was spinning; she suddenly remembered that her baby was sleeping inside the house. She ran back into the house. She looked at the clock hanging on the wall. It was 11 pm. She had seen this before, surely she had. The same clock the same time; she had heard the same noises.

Something was very familiar about this scene. It seemed like she had lived this before. Nancy tried to put away her thoughts. She ran indeed the house calling out “Romi, get up there is a fire”. She picked up Romi from the bed. Suddenly she threw him out of the window and jumped. She new it for sure that there not much time to go downstairs and walk out of the door, the house would come down. There was someone outside ready to catch Romi. How did she know that someone would be there to catch her baby? She was on the ground and Romi was safe in a strangers arm. The house was falling into pieces. It seemed like all this had happened before and she had seen it. Maybe it was her dream turning into reality, dreams that were haunting her. Fear smiled on her face.

To be continued…..

What the Child Trust Fund Can Do for Your Child, where to Invest the 250 Pounds

November 27th, 2008

Are you aware of the Child Trust Fund and its benefits? surprisingly few appear to be aware of the fact that all newly born babies get a free £250 voucher from the government to place in a Child Trust Fund. The voucher may be invested in any one of three kinds of CTF account, Stakeholder – a shares-based account thatchanges into cash, a savings account or a shares account. It is an excellent way to save for the future needs of a infant

Scottish Friendly is an accredited provider of the Child Trust Fund The Government is eager for people to have access to Stakeholder accounts and this is the kind of account that we are supplying. This means that:

Investments are placed into our Managed Growth Fund, which seeks to provide strong growth potential

An investment is made in part in shares to get the benefit of potentially higher returns over 18 years, compared to a cash deposit account (although the value of shares can
fall as well as increase whereas capital would be protected in a deposit account)

It is available with a low ‘Stakeholder’ funds charge of just 1.5 percent annually

When reaching 18 the child will get a lump sum, wholly free of Capital Gains and Income Tax under prevailing law

It is affordable – extra payments can be put in the account from as little as £10

A notable attraction of the Child Trust Fund is that anyone – parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, friends – can give to the Fund to a maximum of £1,200 per year to help boost the child’s Fund (once added, this money may not be withdrawn).

All this means our Stakeholder account offers a good balance between possible high returns and a reduced level of risk. There’s also the additional assurance that our account complies with the Government’s stakeholder criteria. Nonetheless this does not mean that returns are assured or that Stakeholder accounts are appropriate for everyone. Remember that the value of shares in the Managed Growth Fund (where your Child Trust Fund money is placed) can go down as well as go up and is not guaranteed.

Only infants born on or after 1st September 2002 are eligible to open a Child Trust Fund. If you have older kids born before the 1st of September 2002 who are not eligible you could contemplate investing for them with a Child Bond – it’s a tax-free savings plan intended for long-term growth.

It is undoubtedly the case that saving for your son is a rewarding means of preparing for the world to come.

Net Auctioning…The Other Home Business

November 25th, 2008

More and more moms and dads are starting to realize the importance of working at home everyday. Childcare expenses can be one huge reason why. Nobody wants to go to work at a JOB everyday that they hate just to cover the expenses of childcare. Parents are wanting to be home with their children to watch them grow, be there for those first words or first steps, and to be a part of nurturing their child to become all that they can be.

Finding work at home can be very difficult. There are way too many scams out there that promise that you can make millions overnight. They make it virtually impossible to distinguish scams from real legitimate moneymakers. One key thing to remember at all times is “If it sounds too good to be true; It probably is.” Often you need “start-up” fees that just aren’t there and if you do have them and decide to take the “plunge” then there’s the financial risk of loosing the investment.

Net auctioning can be an answer to all of these problems. With net auctioning there is no start-up fees or risk involved. Remember that box of “treasures” in your attic? How about that bag of Susie’s clothes that she’s long grown out of but you haven’t had the time to have a yard sale. Those are just a couple of ways that you can start auctioning immediately. Most auction sites allow you to list your items for sale for free or low cost so, again, no risk.

Probably one of the best parts of auctioning is that you can start with very little knowledge. You can learn as you go and use every listing you make as a learning tool. Really, what is the loss…that pair of jeans that have been at the bottom of your dresser draw for five years?

If you already have an online business you can use your listings to generate traffic to your website. This is one idea that is missed quite often. For example: Let’s say you make handcrafted birdhouses. You place a couple of them up for auction plus of course, a link to your website. Then along comes a potential customer who is a bird/birdhouse enthusiastic. That customer bids on the birdhouse and looses. Then he/she may be interested in checking out your website for others. Maybe that customer bids and wins. He/she loves the birdhouse and would like more. I’ll give you one guess where that customer is going next.

Last but, by far not the least, this is your business. You decide when and how much you work. As with any home business, the time and effort you put forth will be the deciding factor for your earning potential. Want to make a little? Work a little. Want to make a lot? Work a lot. It’s your business…your decision.

The above-mentioned are only a few of the tips that I’ve picked up out of a gold mine of information located in “The Net Auction Masters Course”. If you’ve had any thoughts of utilizing net auctions as a source of income, I highly recommend taking a look at this course. This course takes you through a step-by-step plan on how to join the Net Auction Game and WIN!. But, you don’t have to take it from me, try it for yourself for free!

It Doesn’t Matter

November 24th, 2008

For Martin Luther King Jr.

Like those short guys
Dressed in tuxedos, at the seashore
That is who we are.
Like my black leather dairy,
The pages white.

Though you are cream and I, coffee
We go together in a mug
Soothing tongues.
You and me, judging our contents,
Sticking together
We can make a difference.

I DON’T NEED NO STINKIN’ DOUBLE NEGATIVES!

November 24th, 2008

A couple of years ago, a teen flick came out — Can’t Hardly
Wait — that starred Jennifer Love Hewitt and Ethan Embry.

While the film was amusing, pulled all the right strings and
made teeny-boppers cheer on, its title is a case of bad
grammar.

Yup, saying, “I can’t hardly wait” is bad grammar.

Why?

Because it’s a double negative.

Consider this sentence: “I don’t want no sympathy from you.”

Now, let’s assume that the person who said the above
statement really doesn’t want any sympathy. But the sentence
implies that what the person doesn’t want is no sympathy –
which means, he or she wants sympathy. However which way you
look at the sentence, it is grammatically incorrect.

If the person doesn’t want any sympathy, he/she should say it
either:

I don’t want sympathy from you.

OR

I want no sympathy from you.

* The subtle double negatives

Writers and speakers who always strive to write or speak
correct English have less problem on double negatives.
However, some words used in a negative sense are not
recognized as negatives right away. They are sometimes
combined with another negative and form a subtle double
negative.

Here is a list of these subtle negatives:

seldom
but (used as “only”>
just
merely
barely
hardly
except
only
scarcely
neither
ever
rarely
nothing
nowhere

And here are examples of the use of double negatives:

1.
Bad grammar:
He can’t hardly wait for his present to arrive.

Good grammar:
He can hardly wait for his present to arrive.

2.
Bad grammar:
They didn’t hardly have enough food left.

Good grammar:
They hardly have enough food left.

3.
Bad grammar:
She isn’t but a homeless little girl.

Good grammar:
She is but a homeless little girl.

4.
Bad grammar:
They seldom ever visit us.

Good grammar:
They seldom visit us.

5.
Bad grammar:
Because of illness, he just merely weighs one hundred
and ten pounds.

Good grammar:
Because of his illness, he weighs merely one hundred and
ten pounds.

* Writing activity

Ok, now it’s your turn to transform sentences with double
negatives into grammatically correct sentences:

1. You aren’t barely old enough to live on your own.

2. Why can’t you hardly wait for your parents to pick you up?

3. She was so disappointed because she couldn’t go neither.

4. My father had to sell our car because he didn’t scarcely
have enough money anymore.

5. I have so much to do that I haven’t ever got time to rest.

6. You aren’t but a minority.

7. She just merely recalled how poor they used to be.

8. The new accountant hasn’t worked here except three months.

9. The blanket didn’t barely protect their shivering bodies.

10. Her daughters seldom ever visit her at the hospital.

Car Insurance

November 23rd, 2008

In order to drive on the roads and highways you have to have car insurance. Each and every month you pay for your car insurance, the reason being that if you get into an accident then you will be able to repair your body and your car, along with the other cars and drivers involved. You should always go with the best insurance and not hold back because of the price. Your health is too important.

I have been in a few car accidents and I have extremely good car insurance. After a car accident you are mentally and physically banged up. With a great insurance, you call up the company and they will tell you what to do and help you get though the experience. I was able to get all of the medical care that I needed and the car is fixed, looking brand new. When the car was being fixed, they even put me into a rental car so that I could get around and still go to my job. I can’t emphasize enough the importance of getting the best car insurance available. Be sure to get what is called personal injury protection and opt in for the highest amount of coverage for you and the other people involved. This is being a responsible person for both yourself and others.

In the amazing city of London there are an extensive collection of awesome working girls, these terrific call girls are the perfect offering to give to yourself if you are without a partner. Escorts in the amazing city of London are fabulous and charming and have a high education making them great companions as well as tremendous lovers. The escorts in London are oftentimes more high priced than anywhere else like Glasgow, the reason for this is the escorts tend to be of a higher class.

Call girls have been made beloved with the television show Secret Diary with the graceful Billie Piper. In the tv series the call girl is made out to be glamorous and rich and always looking elegant. Useful Information about Video Marketing – Part One

November 23rd, 2008

The astute old Chinese slogan has an important meaning; the statement illustrated the reality that each and every person accepts an occasion very much more if it is seen. Via video production or videography it is viable to film a succession of occasions.

Nowadays in several business presentations, video is constantly used. By employing video production it’s possible to offer the necessary message to a number of different likely buyers to help sway them. Online Video production is nowadays employed for several reasons; however, quite a lot of corporate videos and awareness associated presentations are usually developed in order to achieve specific business objectives. Vidify’s business video solutions are focused on maximising your business revenue cost-effectively.

Audio video presentations are very much in vogue and thus are used in nearly any variety of business activity. Digital Media agencies usually work with a certain brand of client or an organisation that looks to create an online video commercial, a presentation or a collection of video clips. The entire job of video production is frequently carried out by freelancers; yet there are a select number of good specialist video production agencies around at the moment.

The involvement of music composers, cameraman and script writers can also be typical when creating audio video presentations. Furthermore, marketing firms and PR companies have lately become involved with many aspects of video publishing and distribution.
